Obituary of Gallant, Gerard
Gerard Joseph Gallant, of Summerside, died peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, on Sunday, July 26th, 2020, aged 87 years. Gerard was born in Cape Egmont, PEI to the late Alphee and Rosanna (nee Morel) Gallant. Lovingly remembered by his wife Florence Margaret (nee Campbell) Gallant, son Corey Gallant, stepson Andy Beaton and step-daughters Jane (Russell) O'Brien and Peggy (Pat) Bernard, 9 grandchildren and 23 great-grand children. Predeceased by his stepdaughter Mary Donna Ferguson, stepson David Beaton, sister Bernadette Gallant and brother Antoine Gallant. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside then to St. Paul's Catholic Church where a Private Funeral Mass will take place with interment to follow in the church cemetery. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
