Obituary of Maxfield, Donald Lea
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, September 4th, 2020 of Donald Lea Maxfield of Summerside, aged 71 years. Don was born in Alberton, P.E.I. to the late William and Lillian (MacDonald) Maxfield.
Survived by his brother Edwin (Nancy) Maxfield, Summerside, nieces and nephew; Tara (Geoff) McCabe, Andrew Maxfield (Lindsay), Lindsay (Jason) Lyle, uncles and aunts; Vernon (Carolyn) Maxfield, Charles (Marg) MacDonald and Murielle Gorill.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside. By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Donations in Don's memory to the PEI Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
Donnie's family surrounded him with love as a child and encouraged him to live his adult life on his own terms. He loved living on PEI and working with the fine people in the PEI community school movement and then at Cavendish Figurines and later Gateway Shop and Play. He wanted Islanders to know that kindness and competence run rampant at both the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Prince County Hospital and that they are worthy if you are considering a financial donation.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
