Obituary of Hallis, 'John' Joseph Jean Alexander George
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, September 6th, 2020 of Joseph Jean âJohn' Alexander George Hallis of Summerside, aged 80 years. John was born in Montreal, QC to the late Alexander and Marquerite (nee Baker) Hallis. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Day) Hallis. Loving father of John (Ursula) and Trina. Also remembered by his grandchildren Stephanie (Bart) and Richard (Amanda) and great granddaughters Celeste and Anabelle. Survived by his brothers and sisters; Jimmy, Helene, Dianne, Georges and Angele and brothers and sisters in law; Donna and Carl Montgomery and Marlene and Larry Rondeau. Predeceased by his brother Paul. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private Celebration of John's Life will be held in the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place in Floral Hills Cemetery, Summerside. Family Flowers Only. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
