Obituary of Stella Theresa Marie DesRoches
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital surrounded by her family on January 19th, of 2025 of Stella DesRoches formerly of Summerside aged 66 years. Stella was born in Quebec, but raisedin Summerside to her late parents Elmer and Dorothy (Gallant) DesRoches. Loving mother of Tracy (Clayton) DesRoches, Wendy (Andy) Doucette, Buddy (Jessica) DesRoches, Erin (Jeremy) Hennessey, Loving Nannie of Keisha, Kody, Bensen, Rylie, Fraser, Emmett, Alex, Zach and loving Great Nannie of Aria and Hudson. Loving girlfriend of Brad Laviolette.
Survived by the following brothers and sister: Joyce (Eldon) Arsenault, Helen (Junior) Albert, Carolyn Fortuna (Edward Arsenault), Lornie (Gail) DesRoches, Marlene Loo, Shelley Bryan (Jimmy Arsenault), Roger DesRoches (Mary Clements), Ferdie DesRoches (Wei Kao), Rocky (Sherry) Gallant, Sister in law Angelica DesRoches and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by granddaughter Ashley May Dawn, brothers Raymond DesRoches, John DesRoches, sister Patricia Arsenault, brother in-law Ensor Campbell, sister in-law Cindy DesRoches,nephew Jason Arsenault and great niece Destiny Lynn Arsenault.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside with visiting hours on Wednesday, January 22, from 6 - 9pm. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
