Obituary of Elaine Savidant
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital on Friday, Dec 6th, 2024 of Elaine Marie Savidant (Nee Jellison) in her 85th year. Elaine was born in Coronation, Alberta, to her parents the late Donald F. Jellison and Ruth N. Sortland.
Survived by her husband of over 65 years, Richard Savidant, son Brent Savidant (Tamelia), Grandson Rowen and Granddaughter Riley, daughter Gayle Savidant and her Granddaughter Leah.
Lovingly remembered by her sister Donna Reyda, brother in-law and sisters in-law, Allan Savidant (Betty Jean), Rodney Savidant (Brenda), Catherine Clow (John) and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Donald and Ruth Jellison, sister Shirley Bettenson (Carl), Irene Barker (Les), Sandra in childhood and her father and mother in-law Vincent and Mildred (Gallant) Savidant, brothers in-law Daniel Savidant and Donald Reyda.
She will be missed by all her family and friends across Canada and in Europe having followed her husband throughout his military career living in many locations in Canada and Europe.
A big thank you to all the staff on the Nurse Surgical Ward at Prince County Hospital , your professional care and kindness shown to Elaine was outstanding and very much appreciated by her.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Rd., Summerside where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday December 20th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society of PEI or to the Prince County Hospital Foundation in memory of Elaine.
No visitation by personal request. Interment will take place in St Paul's Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
