Obituary of Adeline Hachie
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024, of Adeline Hachie, of Summerside, and formerly of Montreal, Quebec, aged 85 years.
Adeline was born in Summerside to her late parents Edward and Marguerite (DesRoches) Hashie.
Survived by her sister Darlene (Hashie) Aucoin (Art-deceased) and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her ex-husband Geno Pucacco and her siblings Sonny, Janice (Ivan Smith and Gary Crozier), and Donna (John Mugridge).
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd, Summerside. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow the service in the St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, Summerside.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Adeline’s memory may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 18th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
