Obituary of Dale Patrick O'Brien
We said goodbye to someone special but will never be forgotten at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside PEI on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, of Dale Patrick O’Brien, of Summerside, aged 72 years. Dale was born in Alberton, PEI to the late Robert and Gertrude (MacKenna) O'Brien.
Beloved husband of Karen (MacKendrick) O'Brien and loving father of Jamie Blacquiere (Jeff Thompson) and Poppa to Kaleb, Brodie, and Kole.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Allan (Marlene), Betty Campbell-O’Brien, Floyd (Maria), Coleen Arsenault (Colin Rennie), Larry (Carol), Robert (Lisa), Roberta (Andrew) Boucher and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers Wayne and Paul O’Brien and grandson Colby Blacquiere.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road until Friday, November 15th 2024 where visiting hours will be held in St. Mary's Holy Family Catholic Church, Kensington from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. followed by a funeral mass at 2:30 p.m Interment to take place in St. Paul's Catholic Church Cemetery following the funeral mass. Donations in Dale’s memory may be made directly to the MS Society.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
