Obituary of Marie Gaudet
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, of Marie Gaudet, of Le Chez-Nous, Wellington, and formerly of Church Court, Moncton, N.B., aged 96 years.
Marie was born in St. Nicholas to her late parents Ernest and Eileen (Poirier) Gaudet.
Survived by her brother George of Gatineau, Quebec. Also survived by nieces; Gail Comeau, Carolyn Biggar, Lynn Gaudet, Kim Gaudet, Susan Kasian, Laura Kassian, and nephews Frank Gaudet, Michael Gaudet, Gilbert Gaudet, and Mike Gaudet.
Predeceased by her sister, Theresa Kasian, and brothers Gerard, Elmer, and Archie.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche immediately following the service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
