Marie Gertrude Perry Obituary

Death came peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Friday, September 13, 2024, of Marie G. (Arsenault) Perry of Hawthorne Avenue, Summerside, aged 91 years. Marie was born in Summerside in 1933 to her lates parents Theodore (Ted) and Bella (Arsenault) Arsenault. Beloved Wife of the late J.E. Elmer Perry, married 71 years and mother to James (Dianne) of Summerside and Clayton (Carol) Perry of Mississauga, Ontario. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Melanie, Carolyn (Caridad), Jason and Mathew, predeceased by grandson Christopher (2010).

Survived by her sister Theresa (Keith Simmons) of Andrew’s Lodge, brother-in-law John (Diane) Perry of Summerside, sisters-in-law, Lillian (Victor) Savoie of Bathurst, N.B. and Shirley (Neale) Lefler of Amherst, N.S. Also survived by many loved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.

Marie, for the most part, was a stay-at-home Mom, and made wherever her husbands military assignment took them into a loving home for family and friends. She kept her home spotlessly clean and was an excellent cook and baker. Her retirement home became the “Coffee Break” location for her local family for many years, as family stopped by at 10:00 a.m. for her brewed coffee and tasty treats and many extended family dinners of “Rapure” occurred there.

Following her wishes there will be no funeral services. Interment to take place in the People’s Cemtery, McEwen Road, Summerside.
