Obituary of Kevin Milton Cotton
Kevin Milton Cotton, of Summerside and formerly of Springhill, NS, passed peacefully at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, PEI, on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, aged 60 years. Kevin was born in Oshawa, Ontario, and was predeceased by his mother Hazel Porter (Cotton) and father Paul Doucet of Montreal, QC.
Kevin spent many years all over the country on 18 wheels as a truck driver but always loved coming home to his loving wife Sandy Martin and would give the shirt off his back for his family He was proud father to Brittany, Nicole, and Garrett, as well as a loving stepfather to Brooklyn, Carley, and Jayden. He will be remembered by all including his grandchildren Holden and Theo.
He is also survived by his brother Allen (Kathy), sister Sharon (Chris), and stepsiblings Donna and Victor Porter and many nieces and nephews. He is additionally mourned by his aunt Ethel, uncles John (Darlene), Doug (Peggy), Colin, Roy (Dora), and countless cousins.
Kevin’s strength, generosity, love of a good time and smile that could light up a room will forever be remembered and missed by all.
Kevin is currently resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road in Summerside. The family will host a celebration of Kevin’s life; Thursday September 12th, 2024 6:30 p.m. at The Wing - 329 North Market st, Summerside.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
