Obituary of Richard, Alice Mary
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, November 28th, 2020 of Alice Mary Richard (nee Bernard) of Summerside, aged 85 years. Alice was born in Egmont-Bay to the late Edmond and Evangeline (nee Aucoin) Bernard.
Beloved wife of Alfred Richard and loving mother of Yolande (Glenn) Gaudet.
Survived by her brothers and sisters Irene Arsenault, Melvin (Angele), Florence (Ewen) MacKinnon, Raymond (Rita), Julien (Corinne) Bernard, Therese Arsenault, Patricia Perry, Alcide (Alvina), Marcel (Jeannita), Roger, Claudette (John) Arsenault, sister in-law Claira and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brother Paul, a brother and sister in infancy, sister in-law Doris Bernard, brothers in-law Tilmon and Lionel Arsenault and Earl Perry.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. A private funeral mass will be held in St. Paul's Church, Summerside, followed by the interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Alice's memory can be made directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
