Obituary of Esther Mary Laviolette
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI on Saturday August 3rd, 2024 of Esther Mary Laviolette (Gaudet) of Summerside, aged 88 years. Esther was born in St. Edwards, PEI to the late Lazarette and Angelline Gaudet (Allain).
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Laviolette and loving mother of Melvin, Brenda (Donald) Gallant, Diane (Tim) Craig, Bernadine (Jerry) Jeffery and daughter in-law Sharon Laviolette. Also lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Survived by her sisters Irene Doucette and Hermine (Nelson) Deagle, and honorary brother Allan Gaudet and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Maurice Laviolette, grandson Kenneth Craig, great granddaughter Tiffany Harvey and brother in-law Alfred Doucette.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday August 8th, 2024 then to St. Paul's for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. interment to take place in the church cemetery. Donations in Esther's memory can be made to the funeral expense fund. Visiting hours on Wednesday evening from 6 -8 p.m.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
