Obituary of Harrell, Peter Percy

Harrell, Peter Percy. At Prince County Hospital, Summerside on November 30, 2020, Peter Harrell of Fernwood in his 87th year. Born in Mallorytown, Ontario, 2 October, 1934, Peter's family chose to move to PEI while on vacation in the summer of 1970 and moved permanently in the spring of 1980. Predeceased by his wife Ann (Middleton), his parents and his brother Bill. Survived by grandsons Colin and Ryan Green, Summerside and cousin Bob Hewson (Joanne) of Prescott, Ontario. Peter was a talented model maker of miniature live steam locomotives and model antique farm engines and was a capable horologist. He had a number of interesting careers: farm equipment technician; security alarms technician; Professorial Lecturer in computer languages Queens University, Kingston, Ontario; key member of the semantics of Fortran and Cobol computer languages; founder of the Frontenac Society of Model Engineers, Kingston, Ontario; restoration director of the Pump House Steam Museum, Kingston, Ontario; computer consultant to several PEI firms including Burns Poultry Farm, Freetown. Peter was a gifted musician having performed on a wide selection of instruments including, piano, clarinet, trombone, organ, guitar and carillon. Peter held an ATCM in pianoforte, a BSc (Agr) and was a Registered Systems Analyst from Anaheim California. Peter was a member of Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge, #15 in Central Bedeque for many years. Following Peter's wishes, no visitation or service will be held.
