Shelley passed peacefully on Sunday July 14th, 2024, at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown surrounded by her two children, her mom and sister, and her long time special friend, at the age of 57 years.

Shelley will be remembered by so many that she touched throughout her life, but especially, by children Natasha Nowak and Michael Nowak, mother Ann Thomas, sister Sharlene Thomas, son-in-law Matthew Dickey, daughter- in-law Julia Bell, grandchildren Georgia Nowak and Brett Dickey, special friend Kelly Doyle and last but not least her grand puppy’s Roo and Beans.

Shelley was born in PEI, where she lived up until one year ago, when she moved to Nova Scotia to be closer to her children and grand pups. Then, shortly after moving over, her grandchildren, Georgia and Brett arrived. Most of us hope to find purpose in our lives, however some never do. For Shelley, her purpose was her kids. She devoted her life to her kids and having gotten to spend some time with her new grand kids, it was apparent she felt the same about them too.

Shelley was an incredibly selfless, inspirational and beautiful woman. The strength she showed throughout her life was truly remarkable. Her spirit and resiliency will forever live on through her children and grandchildren.

As per Shelley’s wishes, there will not be a wake, nor a funeral, but rather a private celebration of life for those closest to her. She will be buried beside her father, Papa Joe, in Summerside and visitation to her grave would be something she would like. Donations may be made online to the IWK Foundation.
