Obituary of Shelley Jeannette Gallant
The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Prince County Hospital on Thursday, July 4th, 2024 of Shelley Jeannette Gallant of Summerside, aged 62 years.
Shelley was born in Summerside to her late parents, Robert and Velma.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Gwen Simpson, Jean Gallant, Brian (Mona) Gallant, Jason (Kim Oatway) Gallant, sister-in-law Angela Profit, and special friend Bob Murray.
Predeceased by her brothers Robert and Stephen (in infancy).
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday July 9th, 2024 then to the funeral home Chapel for a funeral service at 2:30pm. Interment to take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Donations in Shelley’s memory can be made to PEI Humane Society or PCH Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
