Obituary of Lavenia Elvira Banks
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday June 23rd, 2024 of Lavenia Elvira Banks (Baglole) of Summerside and formerly of Southwest Lot 16, PEI, aged 73 years. Lavenia was born in Summerside to the late Keith and Elvira (Campbell) Baglole.
Wife of the late Sterling Banks and loving mother of Carol Banks, Cathy -deceased (John) Frame, Cindy Banks (Troy Milligan) and Jimmy (Lindsay) Banks. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Lacie, Roger, Justin, Blair Jeffery “BJ”- deceased, Matthew- deceased, Alex, Tanner, Tristin, Robyn, Kaitlin, Juliana, great grandchildren Alexis, Hunter, Tinsley, Jefferey, Roger Roy, Athena, Aisley, Ellie, Talia and Nevaeh.
Survived by her brothers and sisters Everett (Ruby), Bev (Richard) Arsenault, Dale, Cheryl Arsenault, Donna (Kevin) Gillcash, Alicia Baglole (Brandon) and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her special friends Janice Burden and Julie Dugay.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home Summerside until Wednesday June 26th, 2024, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the Lot 16 United Cemetery, Lot 16. Memorial donations in Lavenia’s memory can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or PEI Lung Association. Visiting hour Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
