Obituary of Arnold Manson MacLean
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital on Thursday, June 20th, 2024 of Arnold Manson MacLean of Summerside, aged 85 years.
Beloved partner of Marge MacKinnon. Loving father of Arnold Jr. (Bernadette), Lorne (Meredith), Kerry, and Kendra. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Brittany, Jordan, Brooke, and Breanna and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sister Laura Lake (Chester).
Predeceased by his parents Haywood and Edith (nee MacLeod) and his siblings Oliver (Hattie Brown), Haywood (Flora Robbins), John (Lily Knox), Angus (Alice Simmonds), Lester (Jane McArthur), Florence Darrach (Alex), Lawrence MacLean (Lois Bergeron) and Anna Godsoe (Merrill).
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd, Summerside until Thursday, June 27th, 2024 for a funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place following the service in St. John’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Belfast.
Donations in Arnold’s memory may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
