Obituary of Nelson Joseph Albert
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday May 18th, 2024 of Nelson Joseph Albert of Summerside, aged 74 years. Nelson was born in Alberton, P.E.I. to the late Joseph and Stella (Dugay) Albert. Beloved husband of Wendy Trowsdale and loving father of Scott, Joey (Jennifer) and Ernest (Alyssa). Also lovingly remembered by his 8 grandchildren Ben, Ava,Caden, Jackson, Ty, Carson, Jackson and Sebastian.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Raymond (Julie), Rayburn, David (Leslie), Junior (Helen), Geraldine (Gerry), Ivan (Rhonda), Christine (Wayne), Marlene (Danny), Darlene, Eric and Charlene and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brother in-law Chuckie and granddaughter Serenity.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home Summerside until Thursday May 23rd, 2024 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Nelson’s memory can be made directly to the Alzheimer’s Society. Visiting hour Thursday from 1:00 until time of service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
