It was a pleasure to visit with Josie on a weekly basis while she was at the Villa. She was a sweet soul. She enjoyed many visits with my dog, Pinot, the therapy dog that volunteered there weekly. My sincere condolences.

Sending my condolences. Loved chatting with Josie while she was a resident at South Shore Villa when I would go visit my Mom. She was a lovely lady.

Subject: Reflections After Loss: A Journey of Heartbreak, Love, and Emotional Resilience
Dear birth mother,
Motherhood: “A mother is the emotional anchor, nurturing force, and adhesive that strengthens family bonds. Her love, care, and guidance foster unity, understanding, and support. In times of joy, sorrow, or challenges, her presence creates stability, comfort, and resilience.”
In the aftermath of my mother's passing, I reflect on the challenges of having navigated life without her. The fracture in our family has left a lasting void, echoing with persistent emptiness, coloring our individual journeys with unique hues of pain and longing.
In those rare moments of connection, the painful truth unfolded – you had willingly embraced a life without me. Despite the open door for rebuilding our fractured relationship, your priorities persistently veered elsewhere, exposing a profound lack of comprehension of the fundamental responsibilities that motherhood entails.
Amidst this journey, a constant hope persisted—a subtle desire that you would opt for reconnection. This hope, though at times dim, never faded away. It stood as a silent beacon, longing for the warmth of renewed ties with my mother and what was once our family.
In stark contrast, my father, resilient in the face of criticism and adversity, fought to keep his children together. Placing me into guardianship brought forth its share of trials, yet meeting Marc became a transformative beacon. Marc's unwavering love and support metamorphosed into a guiding light, illuminating the intricate path through the complexities of family dynamics, and providing solace during emotional tempests.
This letter is not a dwelling on the past, but an acknowledgment of the profound impact woven into the fabric of family dynamics. My in-laws and Marc emerged as the emotional anchors I yearned for, filling a void that others had left gaping. Grateful for the love they bestowed, I now carry their invaluable lessons as I navigate the tumultuous twists and turns of life. I express heartfelt gratitude for the unexpected connections that have become integral to my journey, a journey sculpted by love.
My unwavering commitment as a present and devoted mother to our son, Matthew, has consistently taken precedence. He has blossomed into an extraordinary young man – brimming with love, compassion, a strong sense of identity, and emotional strength. Matthew resides deep in the core of my heart, a testament to Love and Emotional Resilience.
What was once perceived as a loss with your departure from my life, I now recognize as a gain – a gain of resilience, strength, and the profound capacity to love unconditionally. With sincere appreciation, thank you for giving me birth. I will always hold a place in my heart for you and for what might have been.
“The irrational, impossible hope that your mother will someday love you the way you need does not die until she does. And then you mourn not only your parent but that tantalizing, elusive possibility, now forever gone.” - Francine Russo
May you find eternal peace and rest. I forgive you. Love, Ann

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
