Obituary of Patrick Bryan Courtney
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, January 7th, 2024 of Patrick Bryan Courtney of Summerside and formerly of Dartmouth, NS., aged 76 years. Patrick was born in Halifax, NS to the late Jack and Alice (Gallant) Courtney.
Beloved companion of Roma Genereux and loving father of Shawn (Jennifer) Courtney, TaraLynn (Stephen) Shea, Christine DesRoches and Lyne Genereux. Also lovingly remembered by his 7 grandchildren Brooke, Logan, Sydney, Ty, Tristen, Jessica and Josh, and his 3 great grandchildren Weston, Chloe and Edith.
Survived by his brothers Thomas and Kenny Courtney. Predeceased by his brother Danny Courtney and sister Marlene Courtney.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Interment to take place at a later date in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Patrick’s memory can be made directly to PEI Lung Association.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
