Obituary of Millie Roseanne Myers
The death occurred peacefully with her loving family by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, December 11th, 2023 of Millie Roseanne Myers (Dawson) of Summerside, aged 72 years. Millie was born in Halifax, NS to the late Frederick and Myre Dawson (Banfield). Beloved wife of Edward “Allison” Myers and loving mother of Corey (Christina) and Juanita (Gary). Also lovingly remembered by her 2 grandchildren Colin and Christian and great granddaughter Eva. Survived by her brothers and sisters Velda Dawson, Blaine Dawson, Hillis (Fannie) Dawson, Heather Murray, Vivian Daurie (Jack), Arthur Dawson (Sylvie), James (Debbie) Dawson and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Patrick, twins Geraldine and James, sister in-law Shirley Dawson and brother in-law Garth Murray. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. Funeral to take place at Kingdom Hall 20 Taylor Rd., Summerside Saturday December 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Millie’s memory can be made directly to PEI Humane Society. Special Thanks to the nurses, doctors, and staff at the Prince County Hospital for all the care and compassion towards Millie and her family during her stay at the hospital. Especially to nurse Shayna and Robyn. You will forever be in our hearts.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
