Obituary of Teresa Bernard
The death occurred peacefully at Andrew of Summerside, on Sunday, Wednesday November 29th, 2023 of Teresa Bernard (Arsenault) of Summerside, P.E.I and formerly of Harmony Road, P.E.I., age 96. Teresa was born in Summerside to the late Fidele and Elizabeth Arsenault (Gallant).
Beloved wife of the late David Bernard and loving mother of Keir (Leona) Bernard, Eugene (Debbie) Bernard, Brenda and Bonnie Bernard, Joan (Tommy) Blikslagen, David (Patsy) Bernard, Ann Hughes, Patrick (Peggy) Bernard. Also lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survived by her sister-in-law Theresa Arsenault and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Beatrice (Nicholas) Bulger, Alice (Alban) LeBlanc, Margaret (Camille) Gaudet, Mary (Earl) Leddy, Ann (Charles) Nicol, Frank (Julia) Arsenault, Ben Arsenault.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday December 4th, 2023 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Donations in Teresa’s memory can be made directly to the charity of your choice. Visiting hours on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
