Obituary of Willard Peter Blanchard
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. surrounded by his loving family, on Friday October 27th, 2023 of Willard Peter Blanchard of Summerside and formerly of St. Louis, P.E.I, aged 76 years. Willard was born in Alberton, P.E.I.. to the late Joseph and Mary (Ramsay) Blanchard.
Beloved husband of Thelma (Adams) Blanchard and loving father of Lesa (David) Gallant, Sheryl (Scotty) Smith and Joey Blanchard. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Janie, Katie, Mary-Anne, Parker, Dylan and Brandon, great grandchildren Paysen, Harper and Rylie.
Survived by his brothers and sisters. Shirley Johnson (Jack Lewis), Jean Draper, Ronnie Blanchard, Muriel (Nelson) Cousins, Kathleen Williams (Glenn Hurst), Marlene (Lou) Gallant, Donna (David) Gallant,Terry (Lorraine) Blanchard, Sharon MacPhail, Blair (Monique) Blanchard, special friend Reggie Rice and several nieces and nephew.
Predeceased by his sisters Barbara (Billy) Bernard, Mae (Infancy) and brother-in-law Robert MacPhail.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday October 30th where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Willard memory can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation. Visiting hours on Sunday from 4 - 6 p.m.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
