Obituary of Aubrey Leigh Morrell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aubrey Leigh Morrell age 85 of Summerside on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside.

Born in Fredericton, PE, he was a son of the late Leigh and Mary (Ross) Morrell.

Aubrey was a man who spent a lot of time on the maritime roads. Operating different heavy equipment from clearing snow in the winters to hauling any type of earth in his black Volvo dump truck. The longest part of his career was traveling the roads for Midland and starting Morrell’s Trucking; he was proud of being a trucker.

Aubrey and his wife Lilly loved to travel with their campers and for a time a motorhome. They enjoyed their time at Miller Lake Camp as well as their years spent at Stonehurst Campground.

Above all Aubrey loved his family and supported them in many ways.

Aubrey will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his children, Mary (Ryan) Noye, Aubrey (Debbie) Morrell, Elaine (Russ) Noye, Phyllis (Lee) MacAusland and Lester (Lynn) Morrell; twelve grandchildren Christine, Cheryl, Ryan, Leanne, John, Tyler, Jamie, Deanna, Roxanne, Ross, Scott, Taylor and sixteen great grandchildren Alexis, Brianna, Christopher, Danny, Acen, Beckett, Zander, Thomas, Ethan, Isla,  Aislyn, Brody, Dawson, Landon, Eleanor and Allie; four great great grandchildren Lilly, Maya, Oliver and Elijah.

He is also survived by his sister Thelma Chappell, brother Leigh Charles (Irene), nieces, nephews and extended family.

Besides his parents, Aubrey was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lilly (McArthur) and brother Leonard Morrell. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home until Friday October 13, 2023 where a funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 1:00pm. Aubrey will be laid to rest beside his wife Lilly in the Pentecostal Cemetery, Foy Road, Brooklyn PE. Visiting hours on Thursday evening from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Aubrey's memory directly to the Pentecostal Cemetery or the Alzheimers Society.
