Obituary of Floyd MacKinnon
The death occurred peacefully at home on Monday, September 11, 2023, of Raymond “Floyd” MacKinnon, of Belmont, Lot 16, aged 76 years.
Survived by his children Finton (Giselle), Denise (Dennis), and Kegan (Sarah), and their mother Joyce MacKinnon.
Also survived by his grandson Reid, step-grandchildren Matt, Ben, Kinsley, Anna, and Emmett, and his brother Colin “Hoss” (Vicky) MacKinnon.
Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Minerva “Tea” (Culleton) MacKinnon and brother Ken MacKinnon (Eleanor Champion-deceased).
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd, Summerside, until Friday, September 15th for a funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment to follow in the People’s Cemetery, Summerside. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
