Obituary of Ann Kilby
Ann died peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI on Thursday August 24th, 2023. Ann, aged 84, of Summerside, formerly of Northam, Ottawa, New Westminster and England, was born in Rainham, Kent, England to the late Donald and Alice Mitchell.
Loving Mother of Tim (Pam) and Sarah (Travis) and close friend of Carl Phillips. Also lovingly remembered by grandsons Callum and Duncan. Survived by her sister Helen (John Redican predeceased), former husband John Kilby, cousins Felicity, Dave and Pat, nephews Dan, Tony, Jonathan, Nick, Alex and niece Fiona.
Ann had a great love of the outdoors, travelling, music and her animals. She was a devoted volunteer with Special Olympics, her community and church. She was an avid gardener all her life. Most of her teaching career was spent in outdoor education where she shared her love and knowledge of the outdoors.
Donations can be made her name to the Canadian Wildlife Federation. Funeral serice will be held on Monday August 28th, 2023 in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm.
Her family is very grateful for the care that she received from Home Care, Andrews Lodge and the staff at Prince County Hospital. We are also grateful for all the care and support from her friends here on the island and from away that she has received over the years. May she rest in peace.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
