Obituary of William Milton MacKinnon
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Saturday July 29th, 2023 of William “Mokey” MacKinnon of Summerside, aged 73 years. Born in Summerside to the late Lawrence and Katherine (Fitzgerald) MacKinnon.
Beloved spouse of Kim Barnett and loving father of Shannan MacKinnon (Shelley McBean) Monica MacKinnon (Andrew McDonald), stepchild Kaela Barnett, grandchildren Cole Lefurgey, Alec MacKinnon, Blake MacKinnon and Chloe McDonald.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Bunnie (Gerald) Arsenault, Kay Parks, Sheila (Fred) Arsenault, Sharon Cooper, Larry MacKinnon, Trevor MacKinnon, Kyle MacKinnon and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters Betty and Courtney MacKinnon, brother Keir MacKinnon and brother in-law Roy Parks.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. The family will celebrate Mokery's life in a private celebration. Memorial donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Prince County Hospital, Summerside.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
