Obituary of Bernice Kelly

Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 20, 2023, aged 94. Bernice was born in North Wiltshire to her late parents Louis and Agatha (Monaghan) Campbell on Aug 31, 1928. She married Raymond Kelly in 1953 and together they made Kinkora their home. She is survived by her children Brendan (Diana), Linda (Sandy), Kevin, Marina (Wayne), Carmen; her sister Marie McAulay (Frank deceased) and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her 13 grandchildren: Deidre (Mahmud), Patrick (Beth), Allison, Nick (Gloria), Shawn (Elizabeth), Kelly (MacLeod), Katelyn (Nathan), Conor (Ally), Emma (Mark), Mary Ann, Robyn, Aaron, Peter.

As well she leaves behind 10 great grandchildren: Kiran, Malek, Preston, Penelope, Melody, Pascal, Elyse, Mac, Case, Nora.

She was predeceased by Raymond, her husband of 55 years, infant daughter Mary Ann, her siblings Winnifred (Russell), Blanche (Ted), Francis, Brendan.

She had a great love of animals and was very proud of the herd of dairy cattle she and Raymond raised at their Lindenlane Farm. She was a woman of strong faith, humble character and total devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside . Visitation will take place on Monday July 24th 5 –7 PM. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday July 25th at St Malachy’s Church in Kinkora at 11 AM. Interment in St Malachy’s Cemetery. Reception to follow at O’Shea’s Pub and Eatery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or to St Malachy’s Cemetery Fund.
