Obituary of Wilfred Joseph Gallant
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday June 23, 2023 of Wilfred “Willie” Joseph Gallant of Summerside, aged 75 years. Wilfred was born in Mont-Carmel, PEI to the late Augustine “Gus” and Dorothy (Peters) Gallant.
Beloved husband of Joan Rumson and loving father of Jeffery (Stephanie), stepfather to Linda Melvin, Brenda Gaudet and William ‘Bill” (Ellen) Rumson. Also lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Survived by his brothers Kenneth, Leonard (Phyllis), Raymond (Elizabeth), sisters Yvonne Gallant and Linda Gallant (Hartland Jessome).
Predeceased by his sister-in-law Bertha Gallant.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday June 28th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in Notre Dame Du Mont-Carmel at a later date. Memorial donation in Wilfred’s memory can be made to Notre Dame Du Mont-Carmel Cemetery. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm.
