Obituary of Marlene Carroll
Ethel Marlene Carroll, of Summerside (formerly Ontario,) born in 1948, passed at the Summerset Manor in Summerside on June 20, 2023.
Beloved wife and friend of Ron Carroll since 1970. Loving mother of her only child Karen Peaslee, devoted stepmother of Marty (LeeAnn) Carroll, stepmother to Rhonda and Katherine, cherished grandmother of Kraig Willems (Krystal Smith), Tyler Willems, Brett Willems (Taryn Glass), Garrett Georges and Olivia Georges. Great-grandmother to Jesse, Kayden, Karson and Khloee.
Dearly loved sister of Mary Allison, special, fun-loving aunt of Darryl (Charlotte) Allison, cherished daughter-in-law of Eleanor Carruthers, sister-in-law of Ray and Judy Carroll, Donna Lynn and Ross Mann, and remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Elwood (Shorty) and Marie Hyatt, brother-in-law Keith Allison, father-in-law Reg Carroll, and stepfather-in-law Harry Carruthers.
Marlene was a hair stylist for over 50 years, she loved travelling and enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her many friends. Marlene enjoyed her seasonal work time at Cavendish K.O.A for over 10 years.
Marlene will be greatly missed by not only her family but all who knew her. Over the years Marlene had several pets that she loved dearly: Heidi, Missy, Sandy, Buddy, Nipper, Scamp, and faithful friend Queenie. They will now all be together.
Arrangements for Marlene’s cremation are entrusted to East Prince Funeral Home, with services to be held at a later date.
Anyone wishing to make a donation in Marlene’s memory can make it to the Mental Health unit at the Prince County Hospital.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
