Obituary of Jim Cramm
The death of Stanley James “Jim” Cramm, aged 78, occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, May 20th, 2023. Jim was born in Corner Brook, Nfld. to the late James and Maisie (George) Cramm. Beloved husband of 53 years to Claudette “Coady” (DesRoches) Cramm and loving father of James Cramm of Calgary, AB. and Kimberley (CJ) Studer of Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren Aisling, Deirdre and Séamus Studer.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Chester (Rose) George, Elizabeth (John) Christensen, Graham (Bev) Cramm, Jerry Cramm (Michael), Derek (Jeanine) Cramm, Lynn Cramm, brother’s in-law Harry Balsom, Bas Sears, Lionel (Marie) DesRoches and Armand (Judie) DesRoches, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters Shirley Balsom, Judy Sears and Carolyn Cramm.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday May 25th where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:30 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche. Memorial donations in Jim’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
