Obituary of Alcide Perry
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, May 7th, 2023 of Joseph Alcide “Cid” Perry of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 76 years. Cid was born in Alberton, P.E.I. to the late John and Rose (Arsenault) Perry.
Beloved husband of the late Faye (McNeill) Perry and loving father of Andrea (Curtis Mallett) and Ryan (Jennifer). Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Mya, Daniel and Karly Mallett and Samantha Perry.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Marie (Gilles) Plourde, Cyril Perry (Phyllis Sloan), Donnie (Sheila), Irene (Wayne) Bernard, John (Joanne), Linda (Wayne) Doucette, Betty (Kenny) Waite and Kevin, sisters and brother’s in-law Mary and Donna Perry, Thelma McNeill, Carol (Allan) Longaphil, Joyce (Real) Cormier, Jim McNeill, Phyllis (Kevin) MacDonald as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers Alfred and Stephen, sister Anne, sisters and brother’s in-law Joan McNeill, Roy MacNeill, Sharon MacNeill, Donald MacDonald and by his great nephew Baby August Ma Waite.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday May 12th, 2023, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul’s cemetery. Memorial donations in Cid’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
