Erland Millar

Obituary of Erland Millar

Millar, Donald "Erland" passed away peacefully on April 26th 2023, surrounded by his family that he loved unconditionally.

Erland was born on June 4th, 1958 in Summerside, PE to the late Donald Millar and June Pelton (nee Strongman).  Husband to his high school sweetheart, Debbie (nee Trowsdale). Devoted father to Tanya (Blair) MacDonald, Summerside, Tara Millar (Jeff Stavert), Kensington and Anthony (Meaghan) Millar, Tyne Valley. Amazing Pap to Bailey, Alyssa, Reese, Zachery, Christian and Oliver.

Survived by his siblings Harold Millar, Shirley Millar (Richard Dymeski) and Donna (Francis) Gallant; Brother-in-law Ricky Trowsdale; sister-in-laws Fay MacLeod (Rudy Simmonds) and Sandra (Wendell) Hardy. Lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law, Doris Trowsdale.

Erland was predeceased by his parents, step-father Russ Pelton, sister Arlene, sister-in-law Joan, father-in-law Gordon and nephew Joel in infancy.

His contagious smile, sarcastic wit and talent for swearing brought laughter and joy to anyone that had the privilege of knowing him.

He also had a special place in his heart for numerous nieces and nephews as well as his Aunt Joan & (late) Uncle John Millar who supported him with love and kindness throughout his life.

Erland was a humble man who appreciated every message, card, call and visit that he received over these last few months.

Resting at Tyne Valley Presbyterian Church with visiting hours Friday, April 28th from 1 to 3 pm and funeral on Saturday, April 29th at 11 am. Celebration of Life will take place after the service at the Tyne Valley Fire Hall for all those who wish to attend.

We can only hope his soul has been taken to a place where there's no Diabetes and Cancer doesn’t exist. Where a '69 Mustang is ready to take him anywhere he wishes and where the Montreal Canadiens win the cup every season.
