Obituary of Dot Doyle
Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Dorothy “Dot” Marie (nee White) Doyle RN of Summerside, P.E.I., passed away on Saturday, April 15th, 2023, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, aged 91 years. Dot was born in Emerald Junction, P.E.I. to the late John J. and Florence (nee Mulligan) White.
Beloved wife of the late Clarence Doyle and loving mother of Wayne (Beth), Brenda (Wes) Penwarden, Michael (Rita), Alan (Terry), Ann Marie (Kevin) Langdon and Doug (Janice). Remembered by her 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, as well many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her siblings, Ray White, Kay McCourt, Donna Fraser and Alfred White.
Dot was famous for her biscuits, cinnamon rolls and mustard pickles. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoyed building puzzles, playing cards, a big sport fan and loved watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, April 19th, 2023, where a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Church, Summerside at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Dot’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4:00 -7:00 p.m.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
