Obituary of David Coleman Rogers
“Any day your feet touch the floor is a good day”
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, March 31st, 2023 of David “Rocky” Coleman Rogers of Summerside, aged 67 years. Rocky was born in Summerside, loving son of Lillian (nee Arsenault) and the late Gerald Rogers.
Proud father of Caitlin and Cole of Ottawa.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Bill (Elaine), Indian River, PE., Carol (Ron) Millar, Fernwood, PE., Kathy (David) Sobey, Summerside, PE., Brian (Marlene), North Bedeque, PE., Karen (Rob) Martel, Kanata,ON., Bob, Lower Bedeque, PE., Sheila (Brian) McGuirk. Annapolis Valley, NS., Chris, Summerside, PE., sister in-law Nona Rogers, Edmonton, AB. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brother Wayne Rogers and sister Heather Barron.
A friend to all and an inspiration to many Rocky lived his life to the fullest.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to PEI Kidney Foundation. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Babas Kitchen, 950 Callbeck Street, Central Bedeque.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
