Obituary of Roger Dawson
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, March 12th, 2023 of Roger Milford Dawson of Kensington, formerly of Summerside, aged 56 years. Roger was born in Summerside, P.E.I. to the late Milford and Roma (nee MacDonald) Dawson.
Survived by his siblings Cindy (Mike) LeClair and Carl (Ann), his nieces and nephews Mitchell, Shawn, Randy (Keira) and their son Freeman, Niki and her sons Reece and Parker and Chelsey (Terry). Roger will be missed and remembered by his aunts, uncles, family and friends as well his special friend Pam Daly, and his furry friend Magic.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday March 17th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the East Bideford Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Roger’s memory to your local food bank would be greatly appreciated. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
