Obituary of Walter George Wilson
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 of Walter George Wilson of Crapaud, P.E.I. aged 76 years. Walter was born in Crapaud to the late Raymond and Vera (Trowsdale) Wilson.
He will be missed by his nieces Wendy, Terry, Nancy and Cindy, special aunt Marjorie, sister-in-law Donna and all his family and friends.Predeceased by his twin Garfield in infancy, brother Lea and nephew Larry.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. Visiting Hours Tuesday, February 28, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place at a later date in the St John's Anglican Cemetery, Crapaud, PE. Donations in Walter's memory to the St. John's Anglican Church Crapaud, or the Cemetery Fund, would be appreciated.
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
