I was saddened to read of Jean's passing in the Guardian. Mom (Thelma) and Jean shared a room at the Prince County Hospital and we quickly learned what a lovely person Jean was and equally wonderful family of support. I can still picture Jean eating her pumpkin pie buried in whipped cream. How she loved her sweets. My brother and I also appreciated the caring hands your family so generously gave in looking after Mom, too, when you visited. When Mom and Jean were eventually separated and moved into private rooms, how pleased we were to learn they became next door neighbors. I remember Jean saying, the night before, that her move to Clinton View was like her first day of school in not knowing what to expect. However, she loved school, so it was sure to be good. She was always such a pleasant lady with a good sense of humor. I smiled remembering how she told the PCH staff to take the day off when they would be trying to wake her up in the morning and she wanted to sleep in. Mom (88) got moved to Whisperwood Villa on Nov. 11th and is doing well for the most part, with zero pain in her leg. However, she is bored. As of days ago, we've applied for a transfer to Beach Grove Home, where the activities are outstanding, including the residents baking, taking them shopping, unbelievable crafts, etc. Be proud of yourselves, as a family, in all the support you gave to your mother - a terrific lady.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
