Obituary of Arnold James Power

A Funeral Service will be held for the late Arnold Power, Thursday September 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche.
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Prince Country Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2023 of J. Arnold Power of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 87 years.
Arnold was born in Miscouche to the late Emmett and Maude (Connick) Power. Beloved husband of Elizabeth “Bette” (Gallant) Power and loving father of Larry (Susan Mill) and Janet (Derek) Shiers. Also lovingly remembered by his 2 grandchildren Andrew and Ashley Shiers.
Survived by his sisters Mary Clow and Florence Arsenault and by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers James and George and his brothers in -law Ernest Clow and Richard Arsenault. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside.
Funeral service to take place at a later date followed by the committal service in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley, P.E.I. Memorial donations in Arnold’s memory to Alzheimer’s Society, Prince County Hospital Foundation or St. John The Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
