Obituary of DesRoches, Stanley "Stan" Charles
The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at Prince County Hospital Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 of Stanley âStan" Charles DesRoches of Summerside, aged 81 years. Stan was born in Summerside to the late Leonard and MaryAnne (Peters) DesRoches.
Beloved husband of nearly 50 years to Joyce (Gallant) DesRoches and loving father of Anastasia (Véronique), Joanna (Rodney) and Lisa (Don). Also lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren Patrick (Samantha), Sam, Blake, Cate and Karleigh and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Elmer (Doris), Allie (Rita), Marie Doucette, Betsy (Bobby) Keough and Donnie, special niece Anne (Hoss) DesRoches, sister in-law Theresa DesRoches and many close friends along with his AA family.
Predeceased by his brother Jim DesRoches, sisters Shirley (Ernest) Arsenault, Janet (Robbie) Robinson and brother in law Lloyd Doucette.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held. Interment to take place at a later date in St Paul's Cemetery. Memorial donations in Stan's memory can be made directly to Lennon Recovery House.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
