A funeral service for the late Gladys Janie MacRae will be held on Tuesday July 18, 2023 at 11:00 am in East Prince Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens .
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, December 16th, 2022 of Gladys Janie MacRae (Parkman) of Summerside, aged 93 years. Gladys was born in New Glasgow, P.E.I. to the late Stewart and Janie (Lepage) Parkman.
Beloved wife of the late Reginald MacRae and loving mother of Lea (Sandy) MacRae and daughter in-law Betty Lou Baskey. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Brandy (Randy) Kelly, Drew MacRae, Kyla and Kim MacRae, great grandchildren Carson, Taylor, Selikke, Jasper and Coen.
Survived by her sister Hazel Newson and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Brian, brothers and sisters Elaine, Oliver, Beatrice, Adele, Lyle and Norma.
Memorial donations in Gladys’s memory to the International Children Memorial Place would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
