Obituary of Jack Doherty
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, December 1st, 2022 of John “Jack” Doherty of Borden-Carleton, P.E.I., aged 65 years. Jack was born in Middleton Annapolis County, NS to the late Edward and Marion (Manderson) Doherty.
Beloved husband of Lucy Harrison and loving father of Michael (Steven) and Brian. He was a cat whisperer to his fur babies Lola, Scout and Mimi.
Survived by his brother David (Kelley) Doherty, sister-in-law Rachel Doherty and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brother Jim Doherty.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Memorial donations in Jack’s memory to Cat Action or PEI Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
