Obituary of Robert George Woods
Bob (Robert George) departed this world surrounded by so much love on November 25, 2022. He was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on November 2nd, 1943 to the late Tom and Theresa (McNeil) Woods.
A determined 15-year-old, he headed to the big city of Toronto where 14 years later he fell in love with Julie (Julia Gaudet) and Prince Edward Island. In 1980, Bob built their home on Blue Shank Road.
A sentimentalist with a heart of gold, and a Jack of All Trades, Bob lived every day of his life helping others.
He was the life of the party (and there were many!) and a Fred Astaire on the dance floor.
He will desperately be missed by all ~ his partner of 50 years Julie (Julia Gaudet), sons David, Tom, and Steven. Stepdaughter Shelley, 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Brothers Tom (Janice), Eddie (Paula), Ronnie (Kathy), Rolly and Pat (Belinda). Brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Olivine Gaudet.
Pre-deceased by his parents and sisters Lorraine (Mike) Foley and Rita (Dino) Griffo.
A celebration of this magnificent man’s life will occur at a later date.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
