Obituary of MacLeod, Herman

After a wonderful life with many blessings, with a heavy heart the family of Herman MacLeod announces his passing on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Wedgewood Manor, aged 93 years. Herman was born in Birch Hill, P.E.I. in the family home to the late Robert Wallace and Debora (Pauptit) MacLeod. Beloved husband of his first wife Blanche (Baglole) MacLeod and his second wife Roma (Cole) MacLeod. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Dianne VanBuskirk, his son Barry (Shelley) MacLeod, his grandchildren Melissa VanBuskirk Ryan Gillis), Jantina "Tina" MacLeod as well as great-grandchildren Arianna and Thatcher Laughlin. Survived by siblings, Julia Dennis of Ontario, Victor (Audrey) MacLeod of PEI, sister-in-law Sylvia MacLeod, of NS, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived is Herman’s step- family David Cole, Randy (Darlene) Cole, Gail (Stan) Carr and Darlene (Allen) Cole and their families. Herman is preceded in death by his granddaughter Natasha MacLeod, who he called his little snow bird, sister Sadie (Roy) Ramsay, brother Clinton (Mildred) MacLeod and his brother Charles MacLeod, also brother-in-law Clare Dennis and three nephews, Jody MacLeod, Clinton Jr MacLeod and Herman Ramsay. No matter how old we are, losing a father is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But his goodness, his caring, and his wisdom live on, like a legacy of love that will always be with us. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd. Summerside until Friday September 30, 2022, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment to take place in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Port Hill, P.E.I. Memorial donations to St. James Cemetery Fund, Port Hill would be greatly appreciated. Due to family allergies please refrain from wearing scent.
