Obituary of Nicholson, Ada Lorna
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Thursday, September 1, 2022 of Ada "Lorna" Nicholson (nee MacFadyen), of Crapaud, P.E.I., aged 94 years.
Lorna was born in Augustine Cove, PE to the late Edward and Priscilla (nee Carruthers) MacFadyen. Beloved wife of George L. Nicholson and loving mother of Robert (Kathy), John (Helen), Roger (Sharon) and Ron (Lynn).
Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Lisa Nicholson, Maria (Ryan) Johnson, Stacie (Paul) Crabbe, Jocelyn (Matt) Adams, Matthew (Amanda) Nicholson, Karen (Alex) Stewart, Ryan (Brittany) Nicholson and Jason Nicholson and ten great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Aletha Harvey, brother Gerald (Joyce) MacFadyen and brother-in-law Jim Nicholson.
Predeceased by her brother Wendell (Grace) MacFadyen, sister Eileen (Ray) Hambly, grand-daughter Christine Pye, brother-in-law Hubert Harvey, and sister-in-law Betty Nicholson. Donations in memory of Lorna can be made to the South Shore United Church or Crapaud People’s Cemetery. The family will celebrate Lorna’s life privately. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
