Obituary of Marjorie Mae Chester
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, September 19th, 2022 of Marjorie Mae (Blacquiere) Chester of Summerside, aged 88 years.
Marjorie was born in Summerside to the late Albin and Adelaide (Gallant) Blacquiere. Beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Chester and loving mother of Linda (Francis) Gallant, Susan Sauvé, Roger Sauvé, Steven Sauvé (Bev), Glenn Sauvé, Michael (Lori) Sauvé, Victor (Sylvia) Sauvé, Shane Sauvé, Chris (Rachel) Sauvé, Joan Chester and Alice Chester. Also lovingly remembered by her 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Survived by her brothers and sisters Edna Alfano, Nancy (Preston) Silliker, Donna Lee Randon, Edmond (Barb) Blacquiere, Ernest (Marie) Blacquiere and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Alan Sauvé, brothers Clifford, Wilson, Elizair Blacquiere, and Kenneth Blacquiere. Brothers and sister’s in-law Bob Alfano, Rock Randon, Dick Chester and Alice Chester.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, September 26th, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Marjorie’s memory to St. Paul’s Church Cemetery or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visitation hours on Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside, P.E.I.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
