Obituary of Blacquiere, Adelaide Mary
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital,Summerside on Thursday, August 11th, 2005 of Adelaide Mary Blacquiere (nee Gallant)of 441 North Market St., Summerside, aged 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Albin Blacquiere.Loving mother of Marjorie ( Robert ) Chester of S'side, Ernest ( Maria ) of S'side, Wilson ( Rose )of St. Catherines, Ont.,Edna Robert ) Alfano of Quincy, Mass.,Edmund ( Barb ) of S'side, Nancy ( Preston ) Silliker of S'side, Donna Lee Randon of Edmonton, Alta., and Kenneth of S'side.
Also lovingly remembered by her 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brothers and sisters : Gussie ( Agnes ) Gallant of St. Nicholas,Lucy DesRoches of S'side, Bill ( Juanita ) Gallant of Halifax, N.S., and Rita Sangster of
Stratford, Ont. .
Predeceased by her son's Clifford & Elizar , her grandson Shon, her brothers Edmond, Azade, Fidele, Theophile, & Willy and her sisters Melvina, Mary Louise, Lotti, and Theresa.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd.,Summerside until Monday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 A.M.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Adelaide's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Prince County Home Care Services would be greatly appreciated. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
