Obituary of Gallant, Leonard Joseph
The death occurred at his late residence on Wednesday, September 14th, 2005 of Leonard Joseph Gallant of 199 Water St., Summerside and formerly of New London, aged 81 years.
Beloved son of the late Andrew and Josephine Gallant.Survived by his brother Alban ( Uneeda ) Gallant of S'side and also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters Bertha Luce and Ellen Arsenault and his brother Francis Gallant.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10: 30 A.M.. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorialdonations in Leonard's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday evening only, 7 - 9 P.M..

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
