Obituary of Perry, Edna Mary
The death occurred peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday, October 14th , 2005 of Edna Mary Perry ( nee Gallant ) of 77 Water St., Summerside and formerly of Freetown, aged 84 years.
Edna was born in Palmer Road, P.E.I. on May 2nd , 1921 to her parents Sosime and Julia ( nee Arsenault ) Gallant. Beloved wife of the late Edward Perry and also her first husband , the late Joseph Henry Gaudet. Loving mother of Noreen ( Leo ) Pineau of Halifax, N.S., Claude Gaudet of Connecticut, U.S.A., Kevin ( Margaret ) Gaudet of Kinkora, Gordon ( Helen ) Gaudet of Freetown and step-mother of Wayne( Beth ) Perry of Edmonton, Alta. and Louis Perry of S'side. Also lovingly remembered by her 7 grandchildren, her 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces,nephews, brothers & sisters-in-law. Survived by her sisters Denise DesRoches and Alice Perry of Palmer Road.
Predeceased by her son Nelson Gaudet and her brothers and sisters: Ida, Mary Ann, Peter, Phillip, Olive, Joseph, and Ernest.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home,245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday for funeral mass at St. Paul's Church,Summerside at 10:30 A.M.. Interment to take place in St. James Cemetery, Summerfield. Memorial donations in Edna's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours were held on Sunday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
