Obituary of Poirier, Doris Mary
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital,Summerside on Wednesday, October 19th, 2005 of Doris Mary Poirier ( nee DesRoches ) of Miscouche, aged 78 years. Beloved wife of the late Sylvere Poirier.Doris was born on June 7, 1927 in Miscouche to her parents, the late Joachim and Bertha DesRoches.
Loving mother of Diane ( Roger ) Oatway of Freeland, Louise ( Dennis ) Delaney of Ellerslie, Melvin ( Lynn ) of Freetown, Linda ( Dennis )DesRoches of Slemon Park, Ernest ( Barb ) of Kensington and Paul of Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Melissa (Mark), Cory, Steven, Krystal, Jessica, Colin ( Elizabeth ), Joel, and Nyall, her great-grandchildren Hayden, Josie, Hailey, Liam and Avay , her brother-in-law Ivan ( Freda ) Poirier of Wellington and her sisters-in-law Rita Blacquiere of Hamilton, Ont., Leona Poirier of St. Raphael and Claire DesRoches of Miscouche.
Predeceased by her brother Albert DesRoches. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday then to St. John the Baptist Church , Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 A.M.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Doris' memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. John the Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M.. Members of the Miscouche Legion Ladies Auxiliary will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:45 P.M. .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
